GNE waitlist update
As a reminder, the GNE waitlist is still in effect, but some additional funding is available, and we are processing projects in the order in which they were received.
Business Participation Program
All PPL customers who have recently completed projects that qualify for the Excellence in Energy Efficiency Program have received an electronic version of their earned badge and will be mailed their physical badges within the next few weeks. As Corporate Sustainability Initiatives become more of a priority, being an energy-efficient business gives them —and you—a competitive advantage over competitors. Encourage your customers to show off their badges at their place of business and on their marketing materials.
We will continue to promote the badge program throughout the year with a new promotional campaign. Stay tuned for details.
Direct Discount Program
Coming Soon!
We are working on an exciting new addition to the Direct Discount Program, which involves a compelling offer for custom projects. This is planned for Program Year 11, which begins on June 1, 2019. We will keep you updated and provide additional details in next month’s newsletter.
Reminders:
-
All Direct Discount projects must be preapproved before construction begins or they will be transitioned to the Standard Program at $0.05/kWh.
-
When entering your project into the Direct Discount tool, make sure your project name begins with “DD” so that we know it is a Direct Discount project.
Contractor Training — The next Direct Discount contractor training will take place on May 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. EST. This is required training for new contractors or for those who need a refresher.
Distributor Instant Discount Program/Midstream
Mandatory Account Numbers – Contractors should be prepared to provide their customer’s PPL account number to receive an instant discount. They should not give a distributor their own account number, as it will need to be corrected. If they are installing the lighting products in their own facility, then the contractor account number can be used.
Program Follow-up – Distributors, contractors and customers need to be prepared for post-sale outreach from the program and evaluation teams. Projects are sampled for evaluation by both site visits and phone interviews to ensure product has been installed and that rebates have been passed on to the customer. It is also important to make sure the customer is aware that special pricing was provided due to a PPL Business Energy Efficiency Program.
Qualified Products – Only lighting products registered to the ENERGY STAR® or DesignLights® Consortium are eligible for an instant discount. A comprehensive list can be found at energystar.gov and designlights.org.
Distributor Training – We will continue to conduct monthly training webinars to help with your transition to the PPC portal, and to answer any questions you may have about the program. Our next session is April 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. EST. Or check our Upcoming Events page for future dates.
